Finding The Right Family For You!

You don’t need to worry because there are lots of families who would like to adopt a child or young person just like you!

Your social worker will be looking for a family who speaks the same language as you and celebrates all the special dates that you do, too.

Your social worker may put information in magazines or papers that are only sent to people who are thinking about adopting someone like you.

If there are families that are interested in meeting you, your social worker will go and visit them first to find out if you would be happy living with them.

If they are a good match for you, your social worker will let the panel know and they will arrange to meet to discuss whether you would be happy with the family that your social worker has found.

If the Panel agrees that you would be happy, then you get to meet the family. You can ask them all the questions that want so you get to have a say too! But remember, they might also want to ask you some questions, too!
