Hi there,
If you are a child or young person aged between 5 to 16 years old and you are looked after by Lambeth then we have some GOOD NEWS 4 U!! You might be eligible for the Activity FUNd!
The government has given all children and young people a personal allowance of up to £500 to spend on things like:
· Musical instruments
· Joining Clubs
· Out of school activities
· Things that will help you achieve and do better at school
· Items & equipment that will help you learn new skills and develop your talents
· Things that will develop your confidence and help you make new friends
· And much, much more……….
UR £500 Activity FUNd allowance is there to help you enjoy and achieve better in life and to give you the opportunity to experience new and different activities. UR money cannot be spent on trips to the cinema or bowling…
UR £500 must be spent on things that you might not normally get the opportunity to do or buy!! Check out the ‘what the Activity FUNd can be used for’ information for ideas. Also, U must have a chat with UR social worker and foster carer and decide together how 2 spend UR money, once you have made a decision together your social worker needs to fill out the REQUEST FORM and send this to the Corporate Parenting Team ASAP.
Remember – From April this year (2010) U WILL HAVE UP TO £500 Activity FUNding 2 spend.
