At some point your journey in care will come to an end, and you will no longer be looked after by Lambeth Council. This can happen in a few different ways. The Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 outlines what the Council needs to do to give you the best possible opportunities in life for your future outside of care.

If you are in care to Lambeth Council you will transfer to the Leaving Care Team around your 16th birthday.

Your new social worker will talk to you and other people who are important to you to find out more about you and what your needs are. It’s their job to help you think about your future – what you are studying, what you want to do in the future and your independence skills.
